After enjoying breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and proceed to Pinnawela for a visit to the elephant
orphanage.
The journey to the orphanage takes approximately 2½ hours from Negombo, offering a great opportunity to get
up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. Upon arrival in the late morning, it is recommended to
have lunch by the river. As the elephants are fed, they are then brought down to the river for bathing. Watching
them from a vantage point with a refreshing drink in hand makes for a delightful experience. The duration of the
visit is approximately 2 hours.
Afterward, you will continue your journey to Kandy, where you will visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of
Lord Buddha. This temple, founded in the 16th Century, is home to one of the most revered relics of
Buddhism—a tooth of Buddha, collected from his funeral pyre and now enshrined within the gold-roofed
Temple of the Tooth. Witness the blessing ceremony, accompanied by the grandeur of drums, trumpets, and
brightly colored Monks performing their rituals.
Finally, you will check in to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Start your day with a breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, you will embark on a visit to the Royal Botanical
Gardens of Peradeniya. Originally a royal park, it was transformed into a botanical garden during British rule in
1821. The gardens played a crucial role in testing and introducing important crops like coffee, tea, nutmeg,
rubber, and cinchona (quinine) to Sri Lanka's economy. The botanical gardens are truly remarkable, featuring
an impressive orchid house and a diverse range of plant species from around the world. Garden enthusiasts
are recommended to spend at least a morning exploring the gardens, or even longer.
Afterward, you will embark on a guided tour of the captivating city of Kandy. Kandy known as the former capital
of Ceylon and the last stronghold of the Sinhalese kingdom, Kandy exudes charm. Nestled amidst rolling hills
covered with forests and tea plantations, the city is centered around an ancient artificial lake. Kandy offers
breathtaking views from some of its hotels, as it is situated in the mountainous region of the island.
Strolling through the streets of Kandy is a delightful experience, with a maze of crossroads and interconnecting
byroads creating an intricate network. Pavements are often filled with vendors selling garments, toys, lotteries,
and various fancy items, making the streets bustling and lively, especially during festive seasons. The heart of
the town houses a vibrant market area, where you can find an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat stalls,
sweets, clothes, and more. Kandy is renowned for its gemstones, and it presents an excellent opportunity for visitors to purchase exquisite
sapphires of various colors, rubies, tourmalines, and spinals. You are also invited to explore gemstone
workshops, where you can witness the design, cutting, polishing, and setting processes
In the evening, you will enjoy a mesmerizing local dance performance in the town. Following the performance.
You will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay

After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
Departure from the hotel is scheduled for 8:30 am. Along the way, you will have the exciting opportunity to
enjoy a brief train ride. Your vehicle will travel ahead of you and pick you up at a designated station.
During your journey, just outside Nuwara Eliya, you will visit a tea plantation and factory. Here, you will have
the chance to delve into the fascinating process of how two fresh tea leaves and a bud are meticulously
transformed into the fine brown dust we know as tea.
Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, you will check in to your hotel for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
